Representatives of the 71st Regular Session of the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution on World Creativity and Innovation Day on April 27, calling on countries to promote innovation and startups in the business sector.
The board recognized innovation’s crucial role in the global economy, saying that it could promote employment and create opportunities for many across the globe.
Liu Jieyi, China’s ambassador in the United Nations, said the Chinese government considered innovation as key to the country’s development strategy.
“China is promoting mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and is actively implementing the UN’s 2030 agenda for sustainable development,” he said.
“The resolution shows China’s idea has become part of the international solution to economic development and the creation of jobs.”
“China will work with countries, involved with the UN, to help implement a resolution, and promote innovation and startups, while continuing to promote a sustainable development agenda.”
