Premier Li congratulates UN Industrial Development Organization on 50th anniversary

Premier Li Keqiang sent a letter of congratulations to the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on its 50th anniversary on Nov 21.

Premier Li highly praised UNIDO’s efforts in accelerating growth, promoting industrial progress of developing countries and fighting against poverty, adding that inclusive and sustainable industrialization as well as innovation are the key focuses of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The Chinese government is committed to innovation-driven development and Made in China 2025, and is stepping up efforts to promote deep integration among mass entrepreneurship and innovation, industrialization and informatization, according to the Premier.

Premier Li said international cooperation on production capacity will unleash industrial advantages of each nation, and realize high-level mutual benefits, opening up a new path for South-South and South-North cooperation.

China, as the largest developing country, always supports UNIDO, and believes that the organization will make great contributions to strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive global economic growth, said the Premier.
