Vice-Premier Wang Yang stressed the important role of grassroots leaders in poverty alleviation and precision in poverty relief efforts.

He made the remarks during a visit to Hengshui, China’s Hebei province, from Jan 31 to Feb 1.

After learning of the daily life of local residents, the vice-premier appreciated the outstanding work by the grassroots leaders in poverty relief. He urged them to implement poverty alleviation measures, and make full use of the poverty relief fund. Local people should also be guided to make a better living by themselves, he added.
