State Councilor Guo Shengkun called for more efforts and increased awareness to tackle terror and protect social stability.

Guo, who also serves as the public security minister and heads China’s leading group fighting terror, made the remarks at a video conference on counter-terrorism on April 29.

Public security bodies must fully understand the threat and put whatever measures are needed into practice.

He also called for joint efforts between specialists and the public, and vowed to enhance the flow of information between different departments, police forces and regions to strengthen intelligence gathering.
