State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with 200 Belarusian youngsters from areas affected by the Chernobyl nuclear accident of April 1986, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Aug 11. They were invited by President Xi Jinping to come to China for a vacation from Aug 9 to 17.

Yang said that the arrival of the young visitors shows that leaders of both China and Belarus care about the young - and aim to nurture the next generation promoting bilateral ties.

The head of the group thanked President Xi for his invitation and the warm welcome they received in China, saying the visit will help to build a bridge of friendship between the people of both countries.
