Premier Li Keqiang has delivered his opening remarks at the ASEAN Ten Plus One meeting. He said the ASEAN has provided a platform for broader cooperation in the region.

The Premier first highlighted the steady trade relations between China and the ASEAN. He said in the first ten months of this year, the two sides secured a total trade volume of $380 billion. Premier Li said China and the ASEAN have conducted a series of people-to-people exchanges over the past few years. He added that by the end of this year, the tourist industry will see 20 million journeys exchanged between both sides.

Premier Li also expressed his hope that more momentum will be given in the future to boosting cooperative ties.

“China has always put its relations with ASEAN countries as its priority among its relations with neighbors. China firmly supports the integration and community process, and supports its pivotal role in regional cooperation. Next year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN dialogues. I believe China and the ASEAN will work together to further promote political mutual trust, practical cooperation and cultural exchanges,” Premier Li said.
