Following his visit to Brazil, Premier Li Keqiang will arrive in Colombia’s capital city of Bogota on May 22 to start the second leg of his four-nation tour in Latin America.

Premier Li’s visit to Colombia is expected to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment and infrastructure. Premier Li’s trip marks the first time in three decades that a Chinese premier has visited Colombia.

Premier Li is expected to meet President Juan Manuel Santos during his stay and also witness the signing of an array of business contracts and governmental accords in such areas as infrastructure, manufacturing, and agriculture. China and Colombia have seen frequent exchanges of high-level visits and steady development of bilateral relations in recent years.
