It’s a tale of two bottles: one was turbid, mud-colored and with iron and manganese above safe levels; the other was clear and clean.

On Nov 24, officials from Ministry of Water Resources displayed to Premier Li Keqiang the two bottles to graphically illustrate the difference after a safe drinking water project was implemented in a village in Hunan province.

The Premier said it’s vital to win the tough battle of ensuring the implementation of the project for safe drinking water in rural areas, and to build on the achievements made.

“Always make sure the drinking water is safe and up to standard,” the Premier said.
