Premier Li urges improving rural life

Premier Li Keqiang urged efforts to improve rural living conditions in an instruction to a work conference held in Anji county, East China’s Zhejiang province, on April 26.

Improving living conditions in rural areas is a key task for fulfilling China’s rural revitalization strategy, and is also a fundamental requirement for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, said Premier Li in the instruction.

He stressed the need to spark the initiative of farmers themselves, integrate various resources, strengthen policy support and tailor measures to suit local conditions to achieve key tasks in improving rural living conditions.

He also called for continuous efforts to enhance weak links and improve the image of rural areas, thus contributing to ecological advancement and the building of a beautiful China.

Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua addressed the conference. He emphasized the need to strengthen planning and leadership, set up construction tasks and agendas in accordance with local conditions, and let farmers play a key role in the process.

Hu also highlighted efforts to improve long-term investment mechanisms, allocate funds on a timely basis, strengthen supervision and assessment, and make sure construction tasks could be completed as scheduled with quality guaranteed.
