The joint venture is a breakthrough in Sino-US cooperation in innovative energy technologies, which has set an example for further cooperation, he said.

Premier Li also emphasized safety in nuclear technology, and hoped both sides would ensure the reliability of next-generation nuclear technology.

Premier Li said the new industrial revolution is undergoing an in-depth development, with internet playing a key role. And China is implementing innovation-driven development, “Internet Plus” and other strategies to accelerate the transformation and upgrade of the economy.

“We wish to take advantage of China’s rich talent resources and make good use of internet platforms, and strive for technical breakthroughs through collective wisdom and international cooperation, realizing resources sharing and more benefits to the mankind,” said the Premier.

Bill Gates said that the new nuclear technology is of great importance for the future development of energy and technology, thus ensuring a clean, safe and reliable energy supply.

“We very much cherish the cooperation conducted with Chinese enterprises in related sectors, and are willing to turn common visions into reality with an open attitude,” he added.
