Premier expresses condolences over Myanmar plane crash

BEIJING — Premier Li Keqiang on June 9 sent a message of condolences to Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi over a deadly military plane crash.

He expressed sympathy over the tragedy and condolences to the victims in the message.

The Premier said he believes that with joint efforts of all parties, Myanmar is able to handle the post-accident matters properly.

China is willing to provide necessary support and assistance to Myanmar in accordance with Myanmar’s wish and need, he added.

A military plane with 122 people on board lost contact with ground control on June 7 afternoon while en route from Myeik to Yangon.

A total of 31 bodies have been discovered at sea off the southern coast of Myanmar.
