Premier Li Keqiang sent a message of congratulations on July 13 to Britain’s new Prime Minister Theresa May.

The Premier pointed out in the message that relations between China and Britain has maintained a sound momentum in recent years, with frequent high-level exchange of visits, pragmatic cooperation, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

The Chinese side appreciates the positive spirit of the British government in the cooperation with China, and is willing to work with Britain to further enhance bilateral relations to bring benefits to people of the two nations, said the Premier.

China welcomes Theresa May to the G20 Hangzhou Summit in September this year, and is willing to hold a new round of annual meeting between the two prime ministers on future relations and cooperation, said Premier Li.
