Premier Li Keqiang had a telephone conversation with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Jan 19.

Premier Li said that the relationship between China and Greece is developing with solid momentum, and cooperation between the two countries in various areas has seen progress. China appreciates Greece’s efforts in further developing relations, as well as supporting China’s relations with European countries. The Premier hopes that both countries can fully grasp the opportunity to better enhance trust as this year marks the tenth anniversary of their comprehensive strategic partnership. He also hoped that cooperation on large projects and key areas could be boosted.

Projects, such as Piraeus port, will help achieve win-win situations for both, he said, and hopes that Greece can provide greater convenience to Chinese enterprises investing in the country.

Tsipras said the Greek government attached great importance to cooperating with China. Greece will remain in close contact with China, he said, and promote cooperation on major projects such as Piraeus port, and will enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership in the coming decade.
