Premier meets president of Columbia University

Premier Li Keqiang met with Lee C. Bollinger, President of Columbia University of the United States at Zhongnanhai in Beijing on Jan 6.

Premier Li commented positively on China-US cooperation in education, and Columbia’s academic exchange and talent cultivation with China in many fields including law.

He also said that China is glad to strengthen cooperation with all foreign universities, academies and institutions all over the world, including Columbia, contributing globalized, high-level talent to China’s economic and social growth through strategies such as “Internet Plus”.

Bollinger said Columbia University attaches great importance to cooperation with China, and is willing to help cultivate more talents for China with the “Internet + Education” strategy.

He also expressed the willingness to help westerners learn more about China, and face global issues together.
