Premier Li Keqiang hails local chronicle editors

Premier Li Keqiang gave an instruction to a national meeting that honored the editors of local chronicles, congratulating them on their achievements and saying that local chronicles not only provide a reference for contemporary government administrations but also record history for future generations.

The meeting was presided over by Vice-Premier Liu Yandong on Dec 29 in Beijing.

Local chronicles contain local history and wisdom, and editing local chronicles is an excellent part of traditional Chinese culture, she said.

The vice-premier stressed that local chronicles should faithfully and comprehensively record local history.

She also noted that efforts should be made to explore the resources of local chronicles, which can also promote the image of China.
