Premier Li Keqiang sent a message to congratulate Canada’s newly elected Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Oct 21.

The Premier said ties between China and Canada have made historic progress since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1970.

“With joint efforts, the two countries have achieved frequent exchanges, extensive cooperation and deep friendship between our people,” Premier Li said.

“I am looking forward to working with the prime minister to expand bilateral dialogue, exchanges and cooperation in various fields,” he said.
