2 more administrative approval items canceled

Two more administrative approval items under the charge of the National Development and Reform Commission will be canceled, said a circular released by the State Council in late September.

The two items are the qualification certification of engineering consultation units and the recording and approval of the trans-provincial and provincial-level plan for power generation and supply.

Higher quality standards for elderly care institutions

According to a draft of public opinion on basic quality standards for nursing institution for the aged, the elderly care institutions are required to help the senior people keep in touch with the outside world by providing better communication services.

Staff members should use polite words and protect private information of the elderly people and their visitors.

Also, environment and facilities should be improved to ensure daily care for the elderly people.

Ministry inspects agricultural products

The Ministry of Agriculture has recently carried out an inspection on the quality of 10 categories of agricultural products, such as grain, oil plants, livestock and poultry, and aquatic product.

The inspection conducted by a work group of the ministry was carried out in Shandong, Liaoning and 12 other provinces.

Also, nine provinces in northern China have established an integral prevention and control system against quality risks.

Special permit for aviation officials canceled

The Civil Aviation Administration has issued a circular canceling special permit for aviation officials to use airplanes starting Oct 15.

The circular urged related departments to cancel existing permits and study measures to substitute the function of the permits.

Data map for agricultural meteorology

China Meteorological Administration has issued a plan recently to build a data map for the national agricultural meteorology.

The map will connect the nation-level and province-level agricultural meteorology. When finished, it will be published at agriculture websites and apps.

The data map is an integral part of meteorology big data.

Special program to protect meat quality

A special program will be launched to crack down on crimes harming meat quality from Oct 13 to the end of December, according to a circular issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and the China Food and Drug Administration.

Violations of laws and regulations in key areas will be severely punished, so as to clean up meat market and protect meat quality.
