State Council approves Anhui pilot innovation plan

The State Council on July 4 released a circular approving a pilot plan to increase the overall innovation in east China’s Anhui province.

Based on the region of Hefei, the provincial capital of Anhui, and the cities of Wuhu and Bengbu, the circular called for the coordinated development of a Hefei-Wuhu-Bengbu demonstration zone and Wanjiang City Belt, which undertakes the task of industrial transfer between the country’s east and the west side.

The innovative reform, according to the circular, is to accelerate industrial upgrades, stimulate the vigor and potential of society and achieve innovative development within the Anhui province.

The provincial government in Anhui is responsible for the implementation of the plan, while the National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Science and Technology have been asked to strengthen their coordination and guidance to help the local government.
