According to a guideline released by the State Council, China aims to build power charging infrastructure to support over 5 million electric cars by 2020.

The network will be built to support all kinds of electric cars. The guideline requires all newly built residential complexes to be equipped with charging poles. At least 10 percent of public parking lots should have charging facilities.

Sales of China’s new energy vehicles surged by 270 percent in the first 8 months of this year.
