Sun Zhigang appointed acting governor of Guizhou

Sun Zhigang was appointed deputy and acting governor of Southwest China’s Guizhou Province on Oct 16.

The Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial People’s Congress made the appointments at a session held on Oct 16 in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou.

Sun Zhigang, 61, served as vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission before being appointed as deputy secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China on Oct 13.

Sun is a native of Xingyang in Central China’s Henan province.

Meanwhile, the legislature accepted the resignation of former provincial governor Chen Min’er, currently Guizhou’s Party chief.
