Premier Li Keqiang on July 11 sent a congratulatory message to Kyriacos Mizotakis for his appointment as prime minister of Greece.
Premier Li said that Sino-Greek relations have maintained rapid development with frequent high-level exchanges and a consolidated foundation of political trust.
He said that the Piraeus port is a landmark achievement that came from the two sides’ decision to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative.
“Greece has become a full member of the China-Central and Eastern European Countries cooperation mechanism, which provided a new platform and opened up new space for cooperation between the two sides,” the Premier said.
He also said the Chinese government attaches great importance to Sino-Greek relations and is willing to work together with the new Greek government to further consolidate the relationship, conduct closer policy dialogue, align development strategies, and deepen pragmatic cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
“We hope the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Greece will be further promoted and bring more benefits to the two countries and the two peoples.” the Premier said.
