NANCHANG — Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan has called for more efforts to ensure services and support for veterans during an investigation and research tour in East China’s Jiangxi province from July 11 to 12.

Sun, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, called for thorough implementation of the decisions and arrangements made by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council to build up a veteran management and support mechanism that is unified, standardized and clear in responsibilities.

Better work should be done in areas including employment and education to protect veterans’ lawful rights and interests, she said.

Sun also called for support and preferential treatment for families of martyrs to help them solve practical difficulties.
