Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua met with Toshihiro Nika, Japanese prime minister’s special envoy and secretary-general of the Liberal Democratic Party, who attended the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, in Beijing on April 28.

Hu said that he hopes the two sides will join hands to implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two countries and promote development of the Belt and Road Initiative and third-party market cooperation.

The two sides should also strengthen economic and trade exchanges and deepen pragmatic cooperation in agriculture and other fields, he added.

Noting that there is great room for development within the Belt and Road Initiative, Toshihiro Nika said Japan is willing to strengthen cooperation with China and promote cooperation between the two sides in agriculture and other areas.
