Vice-premier meets Russian and South Korean deputy PMs

Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua on April 26 met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister and the presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia Yury Trutne and South Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki, who are both attending the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, in Beijing.

Hu and Trutnev also attended a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation of Northeast China and the Far East and Baikal Region of Russia.

“This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia,” Hu said.

“We hope that the two sides will make joint efforts to implement the consensus reached by the two leaders and give full play to the role of the Commission for Cooperation of Northeast China and the Far East, strengthening cooperation on trade, investment, infrastructure, agriculture and other areas, promoting the development of bilateral relations.”

Trutne said that Russia would like to work with China to implement the outcomes of the second meeting of the commission and make further progress in cooperation.

Hu welcomed Hong Nam-ki’s visit, and both sides exchanged views on promoting the construction of Belt and Road Initiative and strengthening economic and trade cooperation.
