Vice-premier meets with Thai deputy prime minister

Vice-Premier Han Zheng met with his Thai counterpart, Somkid Jatusripitak, in Beijing on Nov 6.

Han said President Xi Jinping just highlighted collaboration in building an innovative, inclusive and open world economy, at the opening ceremony of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), announcing China’s fresh efforts to intensify reform and opening-up and demonstrating its resolution to open wider to the world.

Han said he expects the two countries to facilitate cooperation in the Belt and Road construction, China-ASEAN relations, as well as economy and trade, to strive for more achievements in various areas.

China stands ready to join Thailand in maintaining the multilateral trade system that points the world economy toward an open, inclusive and win-win direction, Han said.

For his part, Somkid Jatusripitak congratulated China on the successful CIIE, and agreed to work with China to expand the Belt and Road cooperation and to promote free trade. He also invited China to participate in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor project.
