BEIJING — Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua met respectively with Britain’s International Trade Secretary Liam Fox and Philippine Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez on Aug 23.
During his meeting with Fox, Hu said China attaches great importance to relations with Britain and has always placed China-Britain relations in a very important position.
He said China is ready to work with Britain to safeguard multilateral trading system, enhance economic and trade cooperation, and promote sustained, healthy and steady development of bilateral relations.
During his meeting with Dominguez, Hu said under the guidance of the two heads of state, China-Philippine relations had started a new chapter. He called on the two sides to further enhance political mutual trust, and expand and deepen pragmatic cooperation, to benefit the two peoples.
