Vice-premier to travel to Russia for far east cooperation meetings

BEIJING — Vice-Premier Wang Yang will travel to Russia next week for a meeting of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee of China’s Northeast and Russia’s Far East and Baikal Region, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said on Aug 28.

During his stay in Russia from Sept 4 to 8, Wang will also attend a chairmen’s meeting of the joint commission for regular meetings between the Chinese and Russian heads of government and the third Eastern Economic Forum, Hua said.

Wang will make the trip at the invitation of his Russian counterparts Dmitry Rogozin and Yury Trutnev.
