Vice-premier meets with Russian Deputy PM

Vice-Premier Wang Yang and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin held a meeting on June 19 and 20 in Huangshan city, east China’s Anhui province.

During the meeting, Wang Yang said that the current Sino-Russian strategic partnership is developing steadily and pragmatic cooperation in various fields has made a number of important results.

The vice-premier said that President Xi Jinping will make a new plan on the bilateral relationship development and cooperation in various fields with Russian President Vladimir Putin in his upcoming visit to China. Meanwhile, Premier Li Keqiang and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will hold the regular meeting between the Chinese and Russian heads of government in the second half of this year.

Wang Yang said that China and Russia should speed up cooperation in major sectors, such as finance and trade, nuclear energy, agriculture and satellite navigation, and carry out large project cooperation, including long-range wide-body aircraft and heavy-lift helicopters, to consolidate the material foundation of bilateral relations and ties.

Rogozin said that Russia has always regarded China as a reliable strategic partner and is willing to accelerate the cooperation with China on large projects and push bilateral pragmatic cooperation to a new level.
