Vice-premier pledges to reinforce support for rural development

Vice-Premier Wang Yang pledged to reinforce policy support for rural and agriculture development at a central rural work conference held on May 9.

The vice-premier stressed expanding rural reform by strengthening policy and measures to benefit farmers, unleash the vigor of rural areas, and improve any weak links in rural and agriculture development.

Wang urged promoting supply-side reform, and improving the management system for modern agriculture, rural collective property rights system, pricing mechanism and storage system for agricultural products.

He also called for greater efforts to alleviate poverty, improve the environment for living in rural areas and the construction of new rural communities.
