Vice-Premier Ma Kai on Jan 27 called for reliable transportation during the Spring Festival, after he made an inspection trip around Beijing for the annual travel rush around the festival.

The travel rush, known as “Chunyun” in Chinese, is expected to see a record level of national transportation capacity this year, said the vice-premier.

For a “Chunyun” with security, warmth and integrity, he urged making thorough screenings to eliminate safety loopholes, further refining and enriching services, and cracking down on people who prey on travelers at railway stations and airports by overcharging them.
