Vice-Premier Wang Yang visited Hunan province from Jan 18 to 20 to report on the central government’s plans for poverty alleviation. He clarified the goals and stressed implementing related policies to ensure fulfillment of the work.
Wang said policies should be applied to every household and person so that efficiency can be improved. He said the most important thing is to solve the problems of people in poverty, which include basic living demands, compulsory education and housing security. The vice-premier also stressed making full use of the poverty alleviation fund and strengthening auditing and supervision.
During his trip Wang visited poverty stricken local minorities’ villages, local people suffering poverty and grassroots leaders responsible for related work.
