On Dec 24, Vice-Premier Wang Yang called for advancing the practice of rural reform in pilot areas with institutional innovation and resource optimization.

“Rural reform will be faced with many problems during the period of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20). It will require us to pursue a kind of development that is innovative, coordinated, green, open, and shared,” Wang said at a meeting on rural reform.

“Local governments should enhance guidance and support the pilot areas. They should encourage farmers to explore new ideas,” Wang said.
