Vice-Premier Wang Yang urges agricultural modernization

Vice-Premier Wang Yang stressed further efforts in reforming the agricultural reclamation’s systems and mechanisms at a video conference meeting on Dec 14 in Beijing.

“Reform and development to the agricultural reclamation plays an indispensable role in promoting agricultural modernization, safeguarding national food security, and improving agricultural economy system with Chinese characteristics,” Wang said.

The vice-premier urged speeding-up efforts in developing State-owned farms into international competitive agriculture enterprises.

He emphasized that efforts should be made in building large agricultural production bases, promoting diversified agricultural management, and developing agricultural products processing.

He also noted that the infrastructure and the public services in agricultural reclamation areas should improve.
