BEIJING — Vice-Premier Liu Yandong met with visiting Governor of Japan’s Nagasaki Prefecture Houdou Nakamura on Nov 11, voicing hope for further people-to-people exchanges and local-level cooperation between the two countries.

Through the exchanges and cooperation, the public foundation for bilateral ties can be strengthened, the vice-premier said, stressing that a long-term stable China-Japan relationship is in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples.

China is willing to make joint efforts with Japan to properly handle disputes and promote ties back on to the healthy track on the basis of the four political documents signed by the two countries in past decades, Liu said.

She stressed the two sides should earnestly implement the four-point principled agreement on bilateral ties they reached in last November.

Nakamura said the Nagasaki Prefecture is willing to further enhance friendly exchanges and cooperation with China, to promote Japan-China friendship.
