Vice-premier: China to expand cooperation with Malaysia

Vice-Premier Liu Yandong told Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak his country is an important and close partner in Southeast Asia and that both countries have great potential in cooperation, when the pair met in Kuala Lumpur on July 30.

She also said China is willing to maintain exchanges of high-level visits and strategic coordination, expand cooperation in economy and trade, education, sport, youth exchanges and tourism, and promote further development of strategic partnerships.

Najib said he highly values the relationship with China, adding that he has set new targets to further strengthen cooperation and improve the relationship since taking office.

The prime minister said Malaysia supports China’s efforts to establish the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and advance the Belt and Road Initiative, hoping both countries will further strengthen cooperation in communication, economy, trade and tourism.
