Marketing cooperatives should undergo reform to better serve agriculture and farmers, Vice-Premier Wang Yang said at the sixth congress of the country’s marketing cooperatives in Beijing on July 21.

The cooperatives should improve, innovate and expand their service to connect more closely with farmers, he said.

They should try different businesses models and raise their competitiveness, while the central and local authorities should strengthen their support, he added.
