Vice-Premier Ma Kai highlighted the importance of upgrading existing industries through better online integration during an inspection tour in Guizhou province.

Enhancing traditional industries through Internet connectivity, in all its aspects, is a growing trend, Ma said, during a meeting to gauge opinions of company leaders after visiting a cloud computing base and high-tech companies in Guiyang, the provincial capital.

China had the appropriate conditions to adopt the “Internet Plus Manufacturing’’ strategy as a leading producer nation as well as having a solid Internet network, Ma said. But the vice-premier also pointed out that more must be done to enhance core technologies, basic networks, establishing standards and training personnel.

We must seize the opportunity, Ma stressed, to keep abreast with new development and take on challenges as we open arms to “Internet Plus’’ to integrate the mobile Internet, cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things and the application of artificial intelligence to forge a stronger and more modern manufacturing base.
