Vice-Premier Liu Yandong met the new NBA commissioner Adam Silver and his colleagues in Beijing on July 31.

Liu Yandong spoke highly of NBA’s devotions to popularizing basketball games among Chinese teenagers and the sports exchanges between China and the United States.

She also said that sports exchanges played a remarkable role in promoting the relationship of the two countries since the establishment of Sino-US diplomatic relations in 1979.

Liu said she hoped the NBA will continually strengthen its exchanges and cooperation with China to both promote the popularization of Chinese basketball projects with a higher competitiveness and make greater contribution to constructing a new model of China-US relationship.
