Vice-Premier meets IOC guests

Vice-Premier Liu Yandong visited the Nanjing Olympic Museum and the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Art Exhibition on Aug 17, together with President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach and the committee’s Honorary President Jacques Rogge.

The vice-premier thanked the committee for supporting the development of sports in China, and especially for its support to the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games. She said the Chinese government values the significant role of the Olympics in social progress, and will aim to develop sports in the country.

Bach and Rogge said they appreciate China’s contribution to the Olympic Movement and they believe the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games will be a success.

Liu also met with Craig Reedie, president of the World Anti-Doping Agency and vice president of the International Olympic Committee.
