Vice-premier meets Singaporean deputy PM

Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli met with visiting Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean in Beijing on Monday.

Hailing the sound momentum of China-Singapore cooperation, Zhang said the two countries have expanded trade and investment, and facilitated large-scale cooperation projects such as Suzhou Industrial Park and Tianjin Eco-city.

China and Singapore have maintained close exchanges in areas of social governance, technological innovation and personnel training, he said.

Next year marks the 25th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties. Zhang called for joint efforts to strengthen cooperation and strategic trust.

Teo Chee Hean, also Singaporean minister for national security and home affairs, said his country hopes to step up cooperation with China on the basis of mutual respect and trust.

Teo Chee Hean is in Beijing to attend the second China-Singapore Forum on Social Governance held earlier on Monday.
