CHONGQING — Public security minister Zhao Kezhi has called on police forces to work hard to ensure security and stability during the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Zhao, also a state councilor, made the remarks during an inspection tour to Southwest China’s Chongqing municipality from June 27 to 28.

Zhao stressed that the police must unswervingly adhere to the Party’s absolute leadership over the public security work and must rigorously protect against and take resolute measures to combat all acts of infiltration, subversion and sabotage from hostile forces at home and abroad.

He also called for efforts to maintain a stable and harmonious social situation and push forward reforms of the public security work.
