State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe met with Zimbabwe’s Defense Minister Oppah Muchinguri in Beijing on May 8, 2019.

Wei said that Sino-Zimbabwe relations were lifted to become an overall strategic cooperation partnership by President Xi Jinping and his Zimbabwean counterpart, Emmerson Mnangagwa, when they drew up a blueprint for future bilateral relations.

China is willing to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, enhance communication in various fields, and promote their cooperative relationship, Wei said.

Muchinguri said that Zimbabwe appreciates China’s long-term support, and is willing to deepen practical cooperation with China in various fields, and promote the bilateral relations to a higher level.
