State Councilor Chang Wanquan met with Cape Verde’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities and Minister of Defense Luis Filipe Tavares in Beijing on Nov 9.

Chang said the military relations between China and Cape Verde have developed smoothly in recent years, with effective cooperation being conducted in various fields.

“China is willing to carry out joint efforts with Cape Verde in deepening military relations, and enhancing pragmatic cooperation in fields such as personnel training and equipment technology, to push forward bilateral military ties to a higher and broader level, and make positive contributions to safeguarding world peace and regional stability,” he added.

Tavares said Cape Verde is willing to work with China in strengthening exchanges and cooperation in various sectors, and enrich the military ties of both sides.
