On Oct 10, State Councilor Yang Jing attended an exhibition of targeted poverty alleviation achievements by China’s State organs, and urged further strengthening the efforts and improving the poverty relief accuracy and effects.

He said since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), State organs have continued to expand targeted poverty alleviation, and to improve work mechanisms, which have seen outstanding results, with 5.6 million people having been lifted out of poverty since 2014.

Under the new situation, Yang asked the State organs to focus on the issues of working out plans, funds investment, and cadre selection to make use of their own advantages to improve the work mechanism of poverty alleviation in targeted poor areas.

He also called for the combination of poverty alleviation work with grassroots Party organizations, improve the allocation, training, assessments and services of the work groups to help local poor people solve their real problems.
