State councilor meets German vice-chancellor

BEIJING — State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Sigmar Gabriel, German vice-chancellor and foreign minister, in Beijing on Sept 17.

Yang expected the two sides to take the opportunity of celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year to cement people-to-people ties in the spirit of equality, mutual respect and win-win cooperation.

Yang said China will work with Germany to push forward China-EU negotiation on an investment agreement, and accelerate the development of China-EU relationship.

Gabriel said Germany will enhance communication and coordination with China on global and regional issues and deepen cooperation in all fields.
