BEIJING — China and Bulgaria signed a cooperation agreement on jointly preventing and combating crime on Jan 11.

The agreement was signed after talks between State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun and Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Rumiana Bachvarova in Beijing.

The two sides should expand cooperation and jointly fight against transnational crimes to advance the bilateral comprehensive friendly partnership of cooperation, and to play a positive role for cooperation between China and Central and Eastern Europe and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, Guo said.

Bulgaria is willing to deepen law enforcement cooperation with China and promote bilateral relations to a higher level, said Bachvarova.
