State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Nov 10 addressed the opening ceremony of the Second Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation in Beijing.

Yang said that regional cooperation is important to develop relations among different countries. In recent years, this type of cooperation between China and Africa has increased – a series of activities held since the first forum in 2012 greatly promoted the China-Africa regional practical cooperation.

Yang said that the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee held in Beijing several days ago put forward the development plan for the next five years. Africa is also making efforts to carry out the first 10-year plan of the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which provides new opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.
