China’s defense chief meets ROK Army chief

BEIJING — Defense Minister Chang Wanquan on May 12 met with Republic of Korea Army Chief of Staff Kim Yo-hwan.

Chang, also a state councilor, lauded the rapid growth of China-ROK ties, as leaders of the two countries maintained close contact and strategic trust and mutually beneficial cooperation had been further strengthened.

China and the ROK enjoy sound military-to-military relations, featuring frequent high-level visits, regular smooth exchanges and growing areas of cooperation.

ROK would like to enhance communication with China and promote further exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries, Kim said.
