BEIJING — China’s Ministry of Education has launched inspections in several provinces to check their safety and anti-leak work before the national college entrance examination.

Based on local self-checks, the ministry inspected how the provinces would print, transport, store and grade exam papers, as well as how they would organize the exam. The inspections checked their safety measures against exam paper leaks during the processes, the ministry said on its website on May 31.

The inspections also checked local implementation of a “high pressure” crackdown on cheating and maintenance of testing centers.

The ministry also reviewed local transportation and health support measures, precautions against noises and heatstroke, as well as contingency plans.

The national college entrance examination, the gaokao, will run from June 7 to 9.
