BEIJING — China’s central government has allocated a relief fund totaling 330 million yuan ($48 million) to Beijing, Liaoning, Shaanxi and several other provincial-level regions hit by floods or drought, the Ministry of Finance said on Aug 24.

The fund was from the central government’s budget to help with flood and drought relief, emergency rescue, and the restoration of water conservancy facilities damaged by floods, according to the ministry.

The ministry also required local authorities to use the fund efficiently, minimize the losses caused by disasters and allow residents to resume their normal life as soon as possible.
